Francesco Tomasi


Francesco Tomasi began his musical training very early, initially with the classical guitar. At the age of thirteen he decided to dedicate himself completely to the lute, studying with Marco Pesci and Andrea Damiani. He brilliantly concluded his studies at the Conservatorio di Musica “S. Cecilia” in Rome in 2009 with maximum marks. In 2012 he completed a specialized Master’s course in lute, theorbo and baroque guitar with Rolf Lislevand at the Musik Hochschule in Trossingen.
He has also attended many international masterclasses held by Paul O’Dette, Jakob Lindberg and Nigel North.He enjoys a busy concert career, performing with various early music ensembles including “Concerto Romano” conducted by M° Alessandro Quarta, “Arte musica” directed by Francesco Cera, “Swiss Baroque Soloists”, “Pera ensemble“, ”Cappella Gabetta”, ”La Malaspina”, ”La Selva“, ”Cappella Tiberina”, ”Ricercare Antico”, ”Anfione ensemble” directed by Andrea Damiani. He has recorded many CDs for Dhm, Brilliant classics and Cristophorus.

His ongoing commitment to the study of early music is evident in his activity as a continuo player, accompanying both established and emerging singers and instrumentalists, as well as a solo performer on the lute, theorbo and Spanish guitar.
